beehiiv price increase, 2026
New prices since 1 October.
Yours arrive
at renewal.
beehiiv’s new plans and prices applied to new customers from 1 October 2026. If you already pay, nothing changes until your first renewal on or after 1 November 2026: monthly accounts get at least 30 days’ notice, and annual accounts keep their price until the term ends. Scale is now Lite and Max is now Pro. At 10,000 subscribers, billed monthly, Lite went from $109 to $139 and Pro from $219 to $239. Below: what changed and when, the full price list, a calculator that takes your own current bill, and what to do about it, including Builderify’s email campaigns as a cheaper way to send, with the things it can’t replace.
By the Builderify team
When does the beehiiv
price increase reach you?
It depends on how you pay. beehiiv’s CEO announced the new plans on 1 October 2026, calling it only the second time the company had changed its plans and pricing in almost five years. The same post says what happens to accounts that already exist.
-
Before 1 Oct 2026
Launch, Scale and Max. Paid plans started at $49 a month, according to the pricing page’s own FAQ as archived on 20 September.
-
New plans, new prices, for new customers. Free, Lite, Pro and Enterprise replace Launch, Scale, Max and Enterprise. The same FAQ now says paid plans start at $59 a month.
-
Existing accounts move at their first renewal. Monthly accounts get at least 30 days’ notice before the first bill at the new price. Annual accounts keep their price until the term ends and move over automatically.
| Old plan | New plan | Subscribers | Seats · publications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | Free | Up to 2,500 | 1 · 1 |
| Scale | Lite | Up to 100,000 | 2 · 3 |
| Max | Pro | Up to 250,000 | 10 · 10 |
| Enterprise | Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited · custom |
From beehiiv’s announcement and the plan comparison on its pricing page, read on 3 November 2026. Before the change, self-serve plans moved you to Enterprise at 100,000 subscribers; beehiiv says Pro now goes to 250,000.
What beehiiv says you get for it
Every core product on every plan, including Free: newsletters, website, podcasts, community and digital products. More AI credits on each plan, and an annual discount of up to two months free.
What did not change
beehiiv still takes 0% of paid subscription revenue, and the Free plan still holds up to 2,500 subscribers. Discounts on your account carry over to the new plan, but two discounts can’t be combined.
A tier you didn’t expect
beehiiv says it moved accounts that had grown past the tier they were billed for to the tier that matches their list now, billed from the first renewal on or after 1 November. Check your subscriber count before the notice arrives.
Creators weren’t all happy: The Verge reported that several were reconsidering the platform, and that Lite rose by at least $10 a month depending on list size. beehiiv is one of several tools that changed their terms this year; the shutdown tracker lists the rest, with dates.
beehiiv Lite and Pro pricing,

Paid plans are priced by subscriber tier, and the price is for the top of the tier: beehiiv rounds your list up to the next bucket. Free costs $0 up to 2,500 subscribers. Lite is sold to 100,000 subscribers and Pro to 250,000; past that, Enterprise is priced by quote. The yearly columns are what you pay in total, with the per-month figure beehiiv shows beside it.

The highlighted row follows the calculator below. beehiiv hasn’t published the old price at each of these sizes anywhere we could verify, so the only before-and-after we state is the one reported at 10,000 subscribers. For the rest, put your current bill into the calculator.
Lite, up to 100,000 subscribers
Paid subscriptions at 0% platform fee, the ad network, automations (10 live), audience polls, A/B testing, the beehiiv MCP, 2 team seats, 3 publications, 3 guest authors and a 12-month analytics history.
Pro, up to 250,000 subscribers
Everything in Lite, plus 10 seats and 10 publications, unlimited guest authors and analytics history, beehiiv branding removed, webinars and coaching, dynamic content, more AI credits and 24/7 priority support.
What will your beehiiv renewal cost,
and what would the same sending cost elsewhere?
Enter your list, your plan and what your last invoice says per month. The calculator finds your tier on beehiiv’s price list, shows the difference against your bill, and prices the sending part of the same newsletter on Builderify credits.

The sending part, on credits
USD · 12 months · before taxThe whole plan, not only sending: the website, paid subscriptions, ad network, podcasts and community come with it.
2 Scale packs, bought once. 20,700 credits a month, 250 of them free.
Builderify: its published rate card, 0.5 credits an email (subscribers × newsletters a month), 1 a new lead, 10 per 1,000 page loads of the widget that carries your sign-up forms, 250 free credits a month, and one-time packs from $9 that never expire. The calculator buys one pack size for the year and picks the cheapest. It prices sending and sign-ups only, so compare it with beehiiv’s bill knowing that beehiiv includes much more; the next sections say what.
How to pay less for beehiiv:
before you consider leaving.
beehiiv’s own FAQ names three ways to lower the bill. They are worth doing first, because they work whether or not you move, and because switching platforms costs you something that isn’t on any price list: the time it takes to rebuild.
-
01
Note your renewal date and your tier
Your first renewal on or after 1 November is when the new price starts. Monthly accounts are promised at least 30 days’ notice, so the notice email is your deadline for the steps below.
-
02
Switch to yearly billing
beehiiv calls annual billing “a significantly better value” than monthly, and now advertises up to two months free. The price list above shows the exact gap at your size: Lite at 10,000 subscribers is $139 a month, or $1,428 a year ($119 a month) billed yearly. An annual account also keeps its current price until its term ends.
-
03
Clean the list and drop a tier
Price follows subscribers, so removing people who no longer read can move you to a cheaper tier. Remember that Apple Mail Privacy Protection marks many unread emails as opened, so “inactive” can miss people; the open-rate guide explains why. Keep a copy of the list before you delete anyone.
-
04
Check whether Free is enough
If you have 2,500 subscribers or fewer, the free plan costs nothing and keeps your site, podcast and community. What it leaves out is the money side: automations, paid subscriptions and the ad network start on Lite.
-
05
Count what pays for itself
beehiiv suggests offsetting the bill with revenue: its ad network, paid subscriptions at a 0% platform fee, digital products and paid recommendations. If you use none of them, you are paying for tools you don’t use, and that is the case for moving.
A beehiiv alternative
for the sending only.
Builderify has no plans and no subscriber tiers. People who sign up through your website’s popups, quizzes or live chat land in your lead lists once you connect them to one, and each confirms by email before anything else is sent. Broadcast campaigns and Sequences then go out from your own domain, and you pay in credits for what you send.
It is not a beehiiv replacement. beehiiv is a publishing platform with a newsletter website, paid subscriptions, an ad network, podcasts, community and digital products. Builderify has none of those, and no CSV import for an existing list. If your newsletter earns through any of them, stay. If you mainly send email to a list you grow from your own site, read on.
What it does
- Double opt-in on every list: nobody gets a campaign or sequence email until they confirm
- Sequences: emails at day and hour offsets after someone joins, with a sending window and weekends skipped if you like
- Campaigns to one list, from a drag-and-drop designer or a rich-text editor, sent now or scheduled
- Sent from your own domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records listed for you
- Open counts per campaign and per sequence email
- One-click unsubscribe; unsubscribed and bounced contacts are skipped
- Export any list to CSV; no Builderify badge in your emails
What it doesn’t
- A newsletter website, archive or custom domain for posts
- Paid subscriptions, a paywall or an ad network
- Podcasts, community or digital products
- CSV import of an existing list
- Segments, groups or tags: a campaign goes to one whole list
- Click tracking
- A visual automation builder, branches or conditions
Sending is paced at 100 emails an hour by default, shared by campaigns and sequences, so 1,000 subscribers take about ten hours. You need your own domain, not a Gmail or Outlook address, and each sending domain is reviewed before its first send.
Know this first: credits
Sign-up forms live in the Builderify widget, which spends credits on page loads. If your balance reaches zero, the widget pauses until you top up or your 250 free credits renew.
Setting up the domain
The records are the same three every sender needs. The SPF, DKIM and DMARC guide builds them with you.
Moving a list
There is no importer, so people join by signing up again. Plan on a transition period, and ask your list to join before you cancel anything. Emailing customers without consent covers what you may and may not do.
Weighing credits against any subscription? What email marketing costs per month works it out at your list size, and MailerLite’s free plan limits compare Kit and Brevo too.
Should you stay on beehiiv
or look for an alternative?
You earn through beehiiv: ads, paid subscriptions, digital products or recommendations.
Stay. Those tools are the point of the platform, none of them exists on Builderify, and the 0% fee on paid subscriptions is unchanged. Take yearly billing and trim the list before the renewal.
You have 2,500 subscribers or fewer and don’t need automations or monetisation.
Use beehiiv Free. It costs nothing at that size and includes the website, podcast and community. No move needed.
You only send email, to a list you grow from your own website, and you were paying for features you don’t use.
Price Builderify’s credits in the calculator above. It has no subscription, and a list that signs up on your site can be on it without an import. It will not host your newsletter archive.
You send to a large list you already have, and need to bring it with you.
Pick a tool with an importer. Builderify can’t take a CSV, so moving a big existing list there means asking everyone to sign up again.
You are on Pro mostly for branding removal or seats.
Compare Lite and Pro line by line on beehiiv’s plan comparison. Pro removes beehiiv branding and adds seats and publications; Lite has two seats and three publications.
The beehiiv price increase, before you ask.
beehiiv's new plans and prices applied to new customers from 1 October 2026. Existing customers see no change until their first renewal on or after 1 November 2026. Monthly customers get at least 30 days' notice before the first bill at the new price; annual customers keep their current price until their term ends and move over automatically.
At up to 10,000 subscribers, billed monthly, Lite (formerly Scale) went from $109 to $139 and Pro (formerly Max) from $219 to $239, as reported by The Verge. The same report says Lite rose by at least $10 a month depending on list size. beehiiv's own pricing page now shows Lite from $59 a month and Pro from $109 a month at up to 1,000 subscribers, billed monthly.
Free, Lite, Pro and Enterprise. Launch became Free (up to 2,500 subscribers), Scale became Lite (up to 100,000), Max became Pro (up to 250,000), and Enterprise stayed Enterprise. beehiiv says every core product is now on every plan, including Free, and that it still takes 0% of paid subscription revenue.
beehiiv's own FAQ suggests three things: switch from monthly to annual billing, make sure you are on the right subscriber tier by cleaning out disengaged subscribers, and offset the cost with revenue from its ad network, paid subscriptions or digital products. If you have 2,500 subscribers or fewer, the Free plan costs nothing.
For sending only, Builderify has no subscription: emails cost 0.5 credits each against 250 free credits a month, and one-time packs never expire. It has no newsletter website, paid subscriptions, ad network, podcasts or CSV import, so it suits a list you grow from your own site, not a publication that earns through beehiiv.
