Holiday shipping deadlines 2026
Last day to ship.Last day to order.
For Christmas 2026, the carriers’ last recommended ship dates run from December 15 to December 24: USPS Ground Advantage December 17, Priority Mail December 18, UPS 2nd Day Air December 22, FedEx 2Day December 22 and Royal Mail 1st Class December 21. Your own last order day is earlier, because a parcel has to be picked and packed first. The table below gives every date from the carrier’s own page, and the builder turns one of them into your cutoff, with the banner line to put on your site.

What is the last day to ship
for Christmas 2026?
It depends on the service.
In the United States the last recommended ship dates run from December 15 (FedEx Ground Economy) to December 24 (FedEx SameDay), and in the UK from December 18 (Royal Mail 2nd Class) to December 23. Each date below was read on the carrier’s own page on 5 November 2026, and the source for each carrier is linked on its row. These are the carrier’s dates for a parcel to be with the carrier, not the dates your customers should order by: chapter 02 works that out.

They are recommendations
USPS calls its dates “recommended send-by dates” and says the actual delivery date may vary. UPS calls them “recommended last days to ship”. FedEx says its dates are scheduled to arrive and are subject to change. Royal Mail says they are correct at the time of publishing and subject to change.
Each carrier aims at a different day
USPS aims for delivery before December 25. UPS and FedEx aim for December 24. Royal Mail’s page lists the last posting date for each service for Christmas. A package on the “last day” has no spare day.
Ground has no single date
UPS Ground has no fixed date: UPS says to check Calculate Time and Cost for your two ZIP codes. FedEx Ground depends on transit days, 1 to 5 business days in the contiguous states and 3 to 7 to and from Alaska and Hawaii. USPS Ground Advantage to or from Alaska, Hawaii and the territories has a service expectation of 10 days or more.
Christmas Eve is not a normal day
UPS is closed on December 25 and has no Ground pickup on December 24; Air pickup that day only if arranged by December 18. FedEx runs modified service on December 24 and is closed on December 25. UPS says a limited number of Ground and Standard packages need extra time in transit from November 16 to January 8.
International is earlier
USPS recommends December 9 for First-Class Package International and Priority Mail International, and December 16 for Priority Mail Express International, for every region its table lists, Canada, Europe and Mexico included.
Hanukkah comes first
USPS notes that Hanukkah (December 4 to 12) is earlier this year, so gifts for it need to go well before the Christmas dates.
What is your last day
to order for Christmas?
The carrier’s date, minus your packing time.
Pick the service you ship with, say how many shipping days you need between an order and a parcel leaving, and the builder works out the last order day. It starts with a made-up candle shop that ships USPS Ground Advantage; change a field to see yours. It writes the banner line, a countdown label, a product-page note and an after-cutoff message, and the settings to enter in Builderify. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

The same date, to set in Builderify
- Carrier date
- USPS Ground Advantage · last recommended ship date Thursday, December 17 · delivery before Christmas Day. The carrier calls its dates recommendations, not guarantees.
- Topbar schedule
- First day Monday, November 30, last day Wednesday, December 16. The schedule runs in whole days, in your website’s timezone.
- Countdown block
- End date Wednesday, December 16, end time 23:59, in your website’s timezone. It removes itself at zero.
- After the cutoff
- Orders placed from Thursday, December 17 go out on Friday, December 18. Swap the Topbar text for the after-cutoff message that morning, or say it on the product page.
How the last order day is worked out
An order is dispatched on the first shipping day on or after the day it arrives, plus your packing days. The last order day is the latest day whose orders are still dispatched by the carrier’s date. If the carrier’s date is a Saturday and you ship Monday to Friday, the last order day moves back with it.
Your own closed days are not known
The builder counts a day as a shipping day if it falls in the pattern you pick. If you are shut on a day inside the window, add a day to the packing time for each one, or take the earlier date.
One date for everyone
The Topbar and the countdown show one date to every visitor. If you ship from two countries with different carriers, pick the earlier last order day for the banner and put each country’s own date on its product and shipping pages.
Where should the Christmas
shipping cutoff go?
Seven places a customer might look.
A banner is seen first and a product page is read last, so the cutoff needs to be in both. Put the same date, in the same words, wherever a customer could decide to buy or ask whether it will arrive. Four of these places are in Builderify, and three you set in your store, because Builderify doesn’t edit a store’s product pages or checkout.

01 In Builderify
Topbar across every page
Put the last order day where nobody can miss it. The Topbar pushes the page down rather than covering it, and its Schedule tab takes a first and last date in your website’s timezone, so it takes itself down at the end of the last order day. Visitors who close it keep it closed.

02 In Builderify
Countdown to the cutoff
The Countdown Timer block in the floating widget counts to an end date and time in the widget’s timezone and removes itself at zero. It shows the digits only, so put the words (“Time left to order for Christmas delivery”) in a text block beside it. Count to the real cutoff, the same for every visitor.

AI chatbot
The question that arrives most in December is “will it get here for Christmas?”. Teach the chatbot the last order day for each way you ship, test it by asking, and delete the Q&A in January so it doesn’t keep quoting a date that has passed.

Email to your list
A week before the last order day, tell your list the date. Broadcast sends from your own verified domain, and contacts who unsubscribed are skipped. Put the last order day in the subject line, because that is the line people see first.

05 In your store
Product pages
Put the note from the builder next to the price or the delivery estimate, in your store’s own editor. A visitor who has already picked a product reads this line before they read the banner.
-
06 In your store
Cart and checkout
This is where the decision is made. Builderify doesn’t edit your checkout, so add the line through your platform’s cart message or shipping-method description. If you offer a faster service, give it its own later date, taken from the table above.
-
07 In your store
Shipping policy page
Put the date there too, with the carrier’s name and the day you checked it. Someone who arrives from search for “christmas shipping cutoff” should see your date without having to find the banner.
When does the cutoff
go up, and when
does it come down?
On a schedule.
Put the date up as soon as you know it, and let it end itself on the last order day. Customers who see a date two weeks ahead can plan around it; customers who first see it on the last day can only be disappointed. Give the banner and the countdown their end date when you create them, so most of the taking down is already done.
Four ways a cutoff goes wrong
-
The carrier’s date used as your own
The carrier’s last ship date is the day the parcel must be with them. Your last order day is earlier by the time you need to pick, pack and hand it over.
-
Promising delivery instead of recommending
Every carrier calls its dates recommendations. Write “order by” and the date, not “guaranteed by Christmas”.
-
One date for two countries
Builderify shows the same banner date to every visitor. If your US and UK dates differ, use the earlier one in the banner and the matching date on each country’s product and shipping pages.
-
A banner nobody takes down
Give it the last order day as its last day when you schedule it, so nobody has to remember in January.
-
01
Now
Find your carrier’s date and set your packing time.
Open the carrier’s page from the sources below, pick the service you actually use and put it into the builder with the number of shipping days you need between an order and a parcel leaving. Check the date again in mid-December: all four carriers say theirs can change.
-
02
Early December
Switch the banner on and put the note on the page.
Schedule the Topbar from the first day you want it shown, add the product-page and cart lines, and give the chatbot the date. A week or two of notice is plenty for a cutoff that is a week or two away.
-
03
A week before
Tell your list.
Send one email with the last order day in the subject line. A second reminder the day before is fine; a third is nagging.
-
04
Your last order day
The banner and the countdown end themselves.
The Topbar runs to the end of the last day in your website’s timezone, and the countdown goes to the time you set. If you also take orders in another timezone, the deadline is still your own one.
-
05
After the cutoff
Say what happens now.
Swap in the after-cutoff message: later orders go out on the next shipping day and may arrive after Christmas. If you offer a faster service, its date in the table is later; price it before you sell it.
-
06
January
Take it all down.
Delete the chatbot Q&A, check the Topbar and the countdown are gone and take the note off the product pages. Next year, read the carrier pages again: USPS announced its 2026 dates on 22 September, and dates move.
What does Builderify do
about shipping deadlines?
It shows the date, then takes it down.
Builderify shows your cutoff on your website and ends it on time: the Topbar, the countdown, the chatbot answer and the email to your list. It doesn’t change your store’s shipping rules, product pages or checkout, and it doesn’t know your carrier’s dates, which is why this page gives them and the builder turns them into copy for you to paste.

It depends on the carrier and the service. For the lower 48 states, USPS recommends December 17 for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express, for delivery before December 25. UPS recommends December 21 for 3 Day Select, December 22 for 2nd Day Air and December 23 for Next Day Air, for delivery by December 24. Royal Mail lists December 18 for 2nd Class, December 21 for 1st Class and Tracked 24, and December 23 for Special Delivery Guaranteed. Read from each carrier's own page on 5 November 2026.
Earlier than the carrier's date. Start from the carrier's last ship date for the service you use, then go back by the shipping days you need to pick, pack and hand over a parcel. With USPS Ground Advantage (December 17), one packing day and shipping Monday to Friday, the last order day is Wednesday, December 16. The builder on this page does the sum for any service and writes the banner line.
No. USPS calls its dates recommended send-by dates and says the actual delivery date may vary. UPS calls them recommended last days to ship, FedEx says its dates are subject to change, and Royal Mail says its dates are correct at the time of publishing and subject to change. Write "order by" on your site, not a promise that the parcel will arrive.
Allow longer. USPS says Ground Advantage packages between the contiguous states and Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the territories have a service expectation of 10 days or more, and points to its service commitments tool for a ZIP-to-ZIP answer. FedEx says Ground takes 1 to 5 business days within the contiguous states and 3 to 7 to and from Alaska and Hawaii. UPS Ground has no fixed date, so use its Calculate Time and Cost tool for both ZIP codes.
Yes. A Topbar has a Schedule tab with a first and last date in your website's timezone, so it ends at the end of the last order day, and the Countdown Timer block counts to an end date and time and removes itself at zero. Builderify doesn't change your store's shipping rules, product pages or checkout, so the date on those is set in your store. The widget runs on 250 free credits a month.
