Drift alternative, after the sunset

Drift is fading out.
Its bubble is still on your site.

On 5 March 2026 Clari + Salesloft announced the gradual sunset of Drift, its chat and chatbot product, and now refers Drift customers to 1mind, an AI sales agent sold by demo with no public prices. No end date has been published, so existing Drift chats keep running for now, but drift.com already redirects. The right replacement depends on what you used Drift for: sales playbooks and routing, or a chat and an FAQ bot on your website. Below: what happened, which kind of tool replaces your Drift, what each costs a year, how to remove Drift safely after its 2025 token theft, and what Builderify’s live chat and AI chatbot can and can’t take over.

01 / What happened

Is Drift shutting down?
Slowly, and without a date.

Drift was bought by Salesloft in 2024, was used in a large token theft in 2025, and was put on a “gradual sunset” in 2026. The announcement names a successor, not an end date: Clari + Salesloft will refer existing Drift clients to 1mind, which it calls a platform of AI “GTM Superhumans” for revenue teams.

1mind did not buy Drift and does not run Drift chats. Moving to it is a new product, a new setup and a sales conversation, since its site offers demos rather than prices.

  1. Salesloft acquires Drift. Customers are told nothing changes to the product or their price.

  2. Stolen Drift OAuth tokens are used to export data from many companies’ Salesforce instances, Google’s threat intelligence group reports.

  3. Early Sep 2025

Salesloft takes Drift temporarily offline while it investigates.

  4. Clari + Salesloft announce “the gradual sunset of its Drift conversational marketing solution” and refer existing Drift clients to 1mind.

  5. Today

drift.com redirects to Salesloft, whose page says “We’ve transitioned from Drift to 1mind.” No end date has been published.

02 / What it means

What Drift’s sunset means
for a site that still runs it.

  1. 01

    Nothing stops today

With no end date published, an existing Drift chat keeps working. That is a reason to plan the move, not to wait for the day it breaks.

  2. 02

    It won’t get better

A product on a sunset path gets no new features. Integrations that break on the other side may not be fixed.

  3. 03

The named successor is a different product

1mind is an AI sales agent sold to revenue teams by demo. If you used Drift as a simple site chat, it is probably more than you need.

  4. 04

    Check your connections now

After the 2025 token theft, Google advised treating every token connected to Drift as potentially compromised. Section 05 has the steps.

03 / Which Drift you used

The best Drift alternative depends
on which Drift you were running.

Drift was sold as conversational marketing for B2B sales teams, but plenty of sites used a small part of it: a chat bubble and a bot that answered common questions. Those are two different shopping lists.

If you used

The sales platform

Playbooks that qualify visitors, routing to the right rep, meetings booked inside the chat, company reveal for target accounts, and sync to Salesforce or HubSpot.

Replace it with

Look at tools built for revenue teams: 1mind, the named successor; Intercom; HubSpot’s Sales and Service Hubs; or Qualified. Expect sales calls and per-seat or custom pricing.

Builderify is not this. It has none of playbooks, rep routing, in-chat booking, company reveal or CRM sync.

If you used

The website chat

A bubble where visitors ask questions, someone answers when they are around, and a bot handles the questions you get every day.

Replace it with

Any live chat with an AI assistant fits, at a fraction of Drift’s price: tawk.to, LiveChat, Intercom, HubSpot, or Builderify.

Builderify fits here: live chat, an AI chatbot that answers from your own content, and both in the same site widget.

What Drift did, and what Builderify does today
Drift feature Builderify
Live chat on your site Yes Real time, with the page the visitor started on
A bot that answers from your content Yes Learns from pages, pasted text and Q&A; designed to refuse rather than guess
Hand the conversation to a person Partly Flags it for the team with a Telegram alert; you follow up outside the bot’s chat
Capture the visitor’s email Yes Before a live chat, into a lead list; before a bot chat, onto the conversation
Book a meeting inside the chat No Bookings is a separate block in the same widget
Playbooks and branching bot flows No Branching exists only in Quizzes
Company reveal and account-based targeting No
Salesforce or HubSpot sync No Leads export as CSV
Email alerts and transcripts No Telegram alerts only
04 / Replacement cost

What a Drift replacement
costs a year, for website chat.

For the website-chat kind of Drift. Seats are the people answering; AI conversations are the ones a bot handles. Prices are per seat billed yearly, from each pricing page on 3 October 2026.

Intercom $29 a seat a month, plus $0.99 per Fin AI outcome $4,260
HubSpot Starter up to $20 a seat a month $480
LiveChat $19 a person a month; AI not in this price $456
tawk.to Free; AI Assist beyond a small allowance is paid $0

Drift had no public price list; its entry Premium plan is reported at about $2,500 a month on a yearly contract, with higher plans by quote. Intercom’s AI is counted at one Fin outcome per AI conversation. HubSpot Starter is priced at its “up to” figure.

05 / Removing Drift

How to remove Drift from your site,
and close what it was connected to.

Removing the bubble is the easy half. The other half matters more: in August 2025 stolen Drift tokens were used to read data from connected Salesforce instances, and Google’s threat intelligence group advised that “any and all authentication tokens stored in or connected to the Drift platform” be treated as potentially compromised.

  1. 01

Export what you want to keep

Conversations, contacts and reports, from inside Drift while you still have access.

  2. 02

    Find the snippet

Search your theme, tag manager and page source for js.driftt.com or drift.load(. The dead snippet scanner finds it in pasted page source.

  3. 03

    Revoke Drift’s connections

In Drift’s admin settings, review every integration. In Salesforce, Google Workspace and anything else Drift connected to, remove its connected app and revoke its access.

  4. 04

    Rotate what it could see

Rotate API keys, credentials and tokens for those integrations and reset passwords for linked accounts, as Google recommends. Search connected systems for secrets stored in records.

  5. 05

    Put the replacement live first

Install the new chat before you take Drift off, so visitors never meet a page with no way to ask.

  6. 06

    Then remove the snippet

Delete the Drift code from your theme or tag manager, publish, and check the page source no longer loads it.

06 / With Builderify

A free Drift alternative
for website chat.

Two blocks in the same floating widget. Live Chat lets your team answer visitors in real time. The AI Chatbot answers from the content you give it and, when it has nothing to go on, says so and flags the question for you instead of guessing.

There are no seats to pay for every month: each new live chat is 1 credit, messages are free, and a teammate is 250 credits once. Visitors who want a call can use Bookings in the same widget.

What it does

  • Live chat in real time, resumed where the visitor left off
  • The page each chat started on, and whether the visitor is still there
  • An optional pre-chat form that adds the visitor to a lead list
  • AI answers from pages you add, pasted text and Q&A pairs
  • Replies in the visitor’s language, streamed as they are written
  • Weak answers turned into Q&A in one step from the transcript
  • Hides live chat when nobody is online, if you choose
  • Telegram alerts for new chats and handed-over questions

Not yet

  • Crawling a whole site: pages are added one URL at a time
  • Handing a bot chat straight to a live agent
  • Playbooks, routing to reps or booking inside a chat
  • Company reveal or CRM sync
  • Email alerts, transcripts or a mobile app
  • Canned replies, assignment or file attachments in live chat

The widget shows “Powered by Builderify”. If the credit balance runs out, the widget pauses; the chatbot stops answering at zero and shows your fallback message.

Questions

Drift's sunset, before you ask.

Gradually. On 5 March 2026 Clari + Salesloft announced the gradual sunset of Drift and said it would refer existing Drift clients to 1mind as the successor. No end date has been published, so existing Drift chats keep working for now, and drift.com redirects to Salesloft, whose page says it has transitioned from Drift to 1mind.

Clari + Salesloft named 1mind, an AI sales agent platform for revenue teams, as Drift's successor and refers Drift customers to it. 1mind did not buy Drift and does not run Drift chats; its site offers demos rather than published prices.

It depends on what you used Drift for. For sales playbooks, routing, meeting booking and account targeting, look at tools built for revenue teams such as 1mind, Intercom, HubSpot or Qualified. For a chat bubble and an FAQ bot on your website, a live chat with an AI assistant fits at far less: tawk.to is free, Intercom is $29 a seat a month plus $0.99 per AI outcome, and Builderify charges 1 credit per live chat with AI answers at model cost.

Drift had no public price list. Its entry Premium plan is reported at about $2,500 a month on a yearly contract, roughly $30,000 a year, with Advanced and Enterprise plans priced by quote.

Yes. Google's threat intelligence group reported that between 8 and 18 August 2025 an attacker used stolen Drift OAuth tokens to export data from many companies' Salesforce instances, and later advised treating every token connected to Drift as potentially compromised. Salesloft took Drift temporarily offline while it investigated. If you still use Drift, review and revoke its integrations and rotate the credentials they could reach.
