Track affiliate link clicks, free
Which post
got the click?
To track affiliate link clicks for free, give every place you share your link its own short link that forwards to the same affiliate link: one for each Facebook group, one for your Reels, one for TikTok, one for your bio. Each short link counts its own clicks, so you see which post or platform sends people. Every click still ends at your Megalink, so OLSP still credits you for every signup. This guide is for students of OLSP Academy. It has a planner that names every link for you, the setup in Builderify Short Links, and how to read what comes back.
By the Builderify team
One Megalink everywhere
gives you one number.
Paste the same link into three groups, your Reels and your bio, and every click lands in the same total. You can’t tell the group that works from the one that wastes your evenings.
OLSP’s dashboard
Clicks, leads and sales on your Megalink as a whole. Every lead is recorded against the signup page, not the post that sent it.
One totalThe referrer
By default, browsers send only the site a click came from, such as facebook.com, never the page, group or post.
At most the siteOne short link per place
Each link counts its own clicks, so the post, group or platform is in the name of the link that was clicked.
Per post
Plan one tracking link
for every place you share.
Pick where you post. The planner names every link the same way, so your report reads like a list of places, and starts each alias with your name so nobody else has taken it.
| Title | Alias | Use it only in |
|---|---|---|
| Facebook group: Moms Who Work Online | maria-fbg-moms-who-work-online | Posts and comments in Moms Who Work Online |
| Facebook group: Side Hustle Starters | maria-fbg-side-hustle-starters | Posts and comments in Side Hustle Starters |
| Instagram Reels | maria-ig | Reel captions and your Instagram stories |
| TikTok | maria-tt | Your TikTok bio or video replies |
| Link in bio | maria-bio | The one link in your social bios |
Destination for every link: [your Megalink] Facebook group: Moms Who Work Online Alias: maria-fbg-moms-who-work-online Use it in: Posts and comments in Moms Who Work Online Facebook group: Side Hustle Starters Alias: maria-fbg-side-hustle-starters Use it in: Posts and comments in Side Hustle Starters Instagram Reels Alias: maria-ig Use it in: Reel captions and your Instagram stories TikTok Alias: maria-tt Use it in: Your TikTok bio or video replies Link in bio Alias: maria-bio Use it in: The one link in your social bios
Aliases use letters, numbers and dashes, up to 50 characters, and each one can only exist once across Builderify. If one is taken, add a number.
How to track affiliate link clicks
with Builderify Short Links.
You don’t need a website or a domain to start. Short links have no charge of their own, on the 250 free credits a Builderify account gets each month.
-
01
Make one link per place
In Short Links, create a link with your Megalink as the destination, the title from the planner, and its alias. Repeat for each row.
-
02
Pick a domain
Links work straight away on Builderify’s shared short domain. Your own, such as go.yourname.com, is better: people trust a name they recognise, and it’s yours if you ever move tools.
-
03
Share each link only in its place
The Reels link goes only in Reels, the bio link only in your bio. A link used in two places can’t tell them apart.
-
04
Read the report after a week
Each link shows total and unique clicks for the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, with countries, devices, browsers, referrers, and how many clicks were flagged.
-
05
Change the destination, not the link
If you ever need to send a link somewhere else, edit its destination. Every post that carries it follows, and the count carries on.
A short link hides where it leads, so the commission disclosure matters more, not less. Wherever you post one, say you earn from it: the FTC says “affiliate link” alone may not be clear, so a plain “I earn a commission if you join” does better.
Line clicks up
against your OLSP leads.
Short links tell you where the clicks came from. OLSP tells you how many signed up. Put a week of each side by side, and compare places over the same days.

Illustration · One group with a lot of flagged clicks
Lots of clicks, few signups
The post works; what happens after the click doesn’t. Try a bridge page between the post and the Megalink.
Few clicks, but they sign up
The audience is right and the post is the weak part. Change the hook, and keep the link.
Total far above unique
The same people, or the same machine, clicking again. A click is unique when it’s the first from that address in 24 hours.
Many flagged clicks
Proxy, VPN or data-centre addresses. A few are normal; a lot from one place deserves a closer look, as in the traffic quality guide.
Give a place a fair week before you judge it, and change one thing at a time. A post that flopped on a Tuesday can work on a Sunday.
The first step,
and it needs nothing else.
Short Links are the one part of this series that works without a site of your own. When you’re ready for more: a bridge page on a free blog, a follow-up sequence for your own list, and a quiz that sorts it.

What Short Links count
- Unique clicks: the first from each address in 24 hours
- Countries, regions, devices, browsers and referrers for every link
- Proxy, VPN and data-centre flags, shown next to the totals, which still include them
- A custom alias on every link, and a destination you can change later
- No charge per link or per click
Know this first
- Aliases are unique across all of Builderify, so start yours with your name
- It counts clicks, not signups or sales: those stay in OLSP
- It can’t tell you who clicked, only where from and on what
- No UTM fields or QR codes on links yet; add parameters to the destination yourself if you need them
Tracking affiliate clicks, before you ask.
Make one short link for each place you share your affiliate link, each forwarding to the same affiliate link, and use each only in its own place. Each short link counts its own clicks, so you can see which post, group or platform sends people. Builderify Short Links do this with no per-link or per-click charge.
Not from the click alone. By default, browsers send only the site a click came from, such as facebook.com, never the group or post. Give each group its own short link and the group is in the name of the link that was clicked.
No. A short link forwards the visitor to your Megalink, so they arrive exactly as if they had clicked the Megalink itself, and OLSP records their signup as yours. The short link only adds a count of clicks on the way.
Total counts every click. Unique counts a click only when it is the first from that address in 24 hours, so the same person or machine clicking again doesn't inflate it. A big gap between the two means repeat clicks.
No. Builderify Short Links work on Builderify's shared short domain straight away. Your own domain, such as go.yourname.com, is better: people trust a name they recognise, and the links stay yours if you change tools.
